Inner Healing Seminar, Paula Shields
We will be hosting Paula Shields on Saturday, Jan 21st, to teach on inner healing and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Paula began her ministry from St Luke’s Church in Seattle where she received initial mentoring from Rev Dennis Bennett who wrote 9 O’clock in the Morning, the initial best seller describing the early years of the Charismatic Renewal in the Episcopal Church and the influence of the Holy Spirit on people from all walks of life. Paula has, for several decades, taught thousands in the far east and in Europe about this relationship with the Holy Spirit as described by Christ in the several places in the Gospel of John, beginning with His teaching Nicodemus and later His disciples. This promises to be a richly rewarding time of teaching and a deepening awareness of and relationship with the Holy Spirit. Please join us on Saturday, Jan 21 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm with a break for lunch. For more information please call St Andrews at (619) 460-7272 and ask for either Mac Nibbs or Fr Bob Blessing.Revising our worship services
Just a reminder that we are back to our 8AM, 9AM and 10:30 AM worship schedule on Sundays. See you all there!
Welcome to Our New Website!
We're excited to announce that we have established a new church website.
We're very much open to ideas about out website and things you'd like to know about. Just send any inputs to "standrewslamesa@aol.com" with "For Mac" in the subject line. I'll get back to you and see what we can add and where. Or, better yet, just respond to this blog if you'd like.
Our Pastor, Fr. Bob Blessing, is also a Lt. Col in the California National Guard, Chaplain, and returned from Iraq this year. He brings an exciting message to us to deepen our walk in Christ
We also have a new youth pastor, Ronnie Short, who brings with him an extensive ministry to youth and young families.
Both of them are delightful, filled with the Holy Spirit, humble teachers whom we are blessed to have with usa at St. Andrews.
Some additional things you ought to know:
Jim Hansen is our very gifted organist and composer.
Our praise team is excellent and leads us into deep worship.
Classes and special programs are held though out the year.
St. Andrew's supports 15 local and global ministries.
The New Year
Dear Friends:
God is always doing something new as he changes us from one reflection of himself to another. He is in you too. This year what are you hoping he will do in you and what transformation do you expect from him? I am looking for a deeper walk and commitment to him as I seek to recognize his presence more each day. I can become distracted by all the business of church and military duties that keep me preoccupied unimportant things rather than the vital and eternal considerations. My prayer for you is that you discover his touch in you that he wants to work out in your life this year.
God Bless you this New Year,
Fr. Bob
Prayer Ministry
One of the amazing aspects of our Christian lives is our conversation with God in the form of prayer. For several years now we, at St Andrews, have had a wonderful prayer group that continually prays for the many needs of our congregation. In addition to this group there are several prayer ministers who regularly pray for individuals with specific requests each Sunday during the 1030 service. It is a wonderful thing to see and be a part of God's interaction with His people and through that experience to notice an even closer relationship with Him. I mention this because often folks aren't always aware of this ministry or how it is an ordinary part of our Christian lives with extraordinary results ... as we learn more and more about praying in His will.
If you'd like to know more about prayer ministry, or receive prayer for almost any need, please contact Gen Clapp or Mac Nibbs at the church office (619 460-7272). God bless you all!
